Friday 27 April.

The fifth day, we visited Zakopane. It's one of the most famous skiing station in Poland, it's next to the Carpates, next to the Tatras exactly, the highest part of those mountains.
We also had a litlle cruise on a typical boat, which sailed between Poland and Slovakia.
The landscapes were very impressive and beautiful.

Saturday 28 April.

The sixth day, was the last day of the trip! We must take the plane at 19 o'clock approximately, so we had all the day for visiting. We went one more time in cracow to take the boat and visit the town from another view... it was great.
Afterwards, we visited some churches again. At 17 o'clock we were at the airport, ready to get back to Belgium. I was sad because I think the trip was too short...
At half past eight, we took off and arrived two hours after in Brussels airport. One more two hours and we were in La Roche, that was great to see our family and to came back home

Life in the hotel

Life in the hotel was cool;in the morning we had breakfast and during the day we visited many things in Poland(Cracow). But to me my favorite moment it's when we come back at the hotel, because you could have fun with your friends.

(Ps:Big thanks to oliver and Mathieu who are two good friends!)
Wonderful landscape

In Poland there are many wonderful places, girls and many wonderful landscapes.During my travel my friends and I went to the TATRAS mountains where we went a boating and could see beautiful, very peaceful and quiet woods
Dangerous Beer

In Poland there is a good law.If you are younger than 18 years old you are not allowed to drink beer or alcohol. My friends and I tried to drink one or two or three beers in a coffé,but the waitress asked us our ID-cards.Of course as we were not 18 years old so,we didn't drink any beer exept juice.

The Castle of Wawel:

The Royal Castle courtyard - Krakow

The Wawel Castle used to be the residence of Polish monarchs from the 11th to the early 17th century. After Krakow lost its capital status to Warsaw, the Castle was occupied by foreign powers during various wars. The Castle offers a mixture of architectural styles and is home of a large arcaded inner courtyard

The dragon of Wawel:

Friday is Curry night for Smoko - Krakow

It is great when we have no fire to switch on its cigarette but you should not be dizzy

Gaelle's questions about the film Crash

Why do all people have so much violence in their heart ?

What is the origin of racism ? (Is it natural or caused by a bad experience)

What are the motivations of racist people ?

Why are towns a source of violence ?

What place does jealousy take in racism ?

Is it a sacrifice to save someone. Is it natural ?

Gaelle's questions

1. How was the hotel ?

2. How many guides had you ?

3. When did you go to Auschwitz ?

4. Had you meet Polish ?

5. What did you eat ?

6. How was the landscape ?

7. Was it a good travel ?

8. How were teachers in travel ?

Wielicska (The salt mine).

Wednesday 25th of April we went to the salt mine in Wielicska. It's a very big mine. All the statues and the church are made of salt. It was very beautiful. The guide from the mine explained it very well, as she didn't speak to much you remember easier what she said. I didn't know that there were salt mines and I thought that salt was always white but we saw grey statues. Before the work in the salt mine was about the same than in a coal mine. Before the travel in Poland we saw the film "Germinal" and it explains how the workers' conditions were in the coal mine so I understand how difficult it was to work there.

The guide and Polish.

The guide was a woman who spoke seven languages (Russian, Spanish, Polish, French, Italian, German, English) and she is learning Portuguese.
She knows Krakow very well. All the churches and the synagogue, the castle of Wawel, the middle of the town, the university, ... I think that you have to like your city to be a good guide. A person about whom the Poles are very proud is the pope Jean-Paul II. I'll never forget the Friday (after five days that the guide spoke us about the pope every day) when Catherine Petit asked if Jean-Paul II was Polish and neither the Saturday when the guide spoke us one more time about the pope we laughed very much.
The people in Poland isn't unpleasant. The Poles who work with tourists are a bit colder. I suppose it's because some tourists are very unpleasant, but if you ask something in English in the street they answer you with a big smile.

the pretty mountain!

During the trip we went in a little town named Zakopane.
Zakopane is one of the famous skiing station in poland!

I was very exited to went to Zakopane because I'm fan of the mountain sports!
I like skiing , walking, alpinism, climbing!!
The mountain up Zakopane are beautifull and impressing !

(This mountain look a little like the Cervin, don't you think?)

Text From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

" The Tatra mountains, Tatras or Tatra (Tatry in both Polish and Slovak), constitute a mountain range which forms a natural border between Poland and Slovakia. They occupy an area of 750km², the major part (600km²) of which lies in Slovakia. The highest Tatra peak, at 2655m, is Gerlachovský štít, (formerly Franz Joseph Peak), located in Slovakia. Rysy, at 2499m, is the highest Polish peak. The Tatra Mountains are the highest mountain massif of the Carpathian Mountains. Although considerably smaller than Alps, they are classified as having an alpine landscape. Their high-mountain character, combined with great accessibility, makes them an object of numerous studies."

In the tatras you can ski 7 to 10 month a year. The climat in Zakopane and the Tatra Mountains is determined by their geographic posision in the Central Europe ( where dominate west winds carring masses of cold air) and by the area relief.

When I was in zakopane with my friend Mathieu that was difficult to know that we are just next to a place were we can ski!
We want so much skiing but it was not possible :( ...
I think everyone how go in the Tatras would say that's very beautifull mountain!
The Tatras approximately like the Alps but in smaller...

+-175 words.

Cracow

I now will speak about the town of Cracow a big city with an incredible large past. An enormous historical culture for this place which one can call crowned seen the many incredible one of religious states.
A place filled of many legends and myths. A fantastic architectural place which is worth really the glance..
A city which crossed the time between war and revolutions .. A city which knew misery and destruction!
This city deserved its heavy of gold because it has survived has any kind of disaster...
It’s true the life in Poland is poor but the country in general is very rich !!
I think there is one star in Poland and this name is Jean-paul 2..
I find it's normal that Jean - Paul 2 is a star because he was before any same Polish and he was the last pope, there are lot's of photos of him in this city or the religion is one part in the life of the people of this country. . .
We had eating Polish food and there is really good but lot's of carrots ...
But it's good for eyes no??? then why not !!!!

An example of racism.

I have never really been confrontated with racism in my life. So I don't have a good example to tell but not a long time ago I saw something on tv that really shockt me. It's about a shop that sells sandwiches and one day they had not enough people to help sow their was a friend who came and help them. The next day, one of the best client didn't want to buy his sandwich there anymore becaus the friend who helpt them was a black boy and the client said that it wasn't hygienisch. I found that very unkind and maybe you can think something like that but that's not a reason to tell that at the boy. I think that he feels really bad now. I find it really sad that such a things happen in the world and that there are many people who don't respect others anymore.

A beautiful city

Cracow is a very old and beautiful city. The first day of the trip the car droped we in one place and we visited a lot of old street and we saw a lot of churches. We had so one or two hours of free times when we can do what we want shopping, eating, drinking(but only without alchool drink).
And at the evening we went to a restaurant and we ate a polish meal(during this meal Olivier Michael and me smiled a lot.The second day we visited an other parts of Cracow and so the castel of wavel. In all the monument of Cracow our guids can say anything of the prefer person of poland jean paul 2 that is incredible where jean paul 2 was going.Sometimes when we had free time we can go and walked on the street. The last day we visited Cracow but on a "fly boat" that was pretty but a little boring. And after this visit on the boat we visited an abbey on the around of Cracow and it is a monk who do the visit and after we eat aspeciality from poland that was horrible, and that was the last of all the visits.

MY CONCLUSION

I think the film crash is the reflection of the reality because everywhere in the world racism is the same problems and I think crash is a documentary for informing the population gravity of this problems. I'm not going to Poland but I know the racism and it's horrible. In general the film is very emotional is not my favorite theme but in this context is a good feeling.

I think the bad point of the film is the reality of the film form me it was exagerated

I recommend this film because it is very intersting to see the life of black people in a city who are lot of discrimination.

my notation : **** -------> good film

THE MORALITY OF THE FILM CRASH

It might seem at time that the moral of the story in crash is one of empathy. or altruism. the redemption of society through individual choices and acts that might bind us together and keep society whole. And that might be the case. but even if it is, there is in the very form of a film like crash a sign of the times, and I mean sign in a double sense. crash describes the kind of society that in its dogged insistence on the individual has lost its humanity its society, its wholeness. crash says to us, this is what we have become, for we all recognize this. And in its statement, it poses the question , What, then, can we do? Anonymous encounter strangers helping strangers these are the elements of society when things come crashing down.

CRASH BY PAUL HAGGIS

This movie examines the taboo subject of race and race relations; how we see each other and how that impacts how we act, react, and live with one another. It opens with a car crash, a fender bender, that has a Hispanic woman trading insults with an Asian woman based on racial stereotypes over Asian driving habits. A Middle Eastern father and daughter are insulted as potential terrorists when they try to purchase a hand gun. Two young black males feel slighted at their service at a restaurant, evidence of racial discrimination; though at the hands of a black waitress, because she, too, thought in stereotypes about young black males. A white couple are the victims of a carjacking; a black couple the victims of a particularly nasty caharacter. A Hispanic man is shunned while doing his job because he looks like a criminal with his shaved head and tattoos.
